About H Crest

Hunter Crest's Breeding Barn ...

The objective of the Hunter Crest Breeding Program is to produce some of the highest quality Hunter, Jumper, and Dressage prospects in the world. Our Breeding Program is currently small but expanding. It is built around an exceptional stallion and five quality broodmares.

Hunter Crest Farm has found that the International Hunter Futurity (IHF) yearly competition is one of the very best gages of successful Hunter/Jumper breeding. We are heavily influenced by the IHF program and its competition in selecting breeding stallions and broodmares for our breeding program.

The IHF Program is in fact the world's premier Hunter competition. The objective of this program is to promote excellence in Hunter competitions for  yearlings, 2 -, 3 -, and 4 - year - olds of all breeds and nationalities.  This competition awards over $150,000 in yearly prize money to the owners of nominated stallions and their gets. Since its inception, approximately $3,000,000 in prize money has been awarded

The following stallions are the top 10 IHF producers of all time. This data is as of 2004 when these results were last published. Shown are their rankings, name, and the total IHF winnings of their offspring.

Breeding Stallion ...

The stallion we use in our breeding program is directly related to All The Gold and Schoenfelder who are first and fifth respectively, on the all-time IHF top stallion list.    We currently stand the stallion Gift of Gold (1999 colt sired by All The Gold out of Copper Penny by Schoenfelder).  We also use the exceptional stallions Corlando at Triad Farm (www.triadfarm.com) and Paparazzo at On-The-Bit Farm (www.onthebitfarm.com) to gain diversity in our broodmare breeding program.

Broodmares ...

Our broodmare collection is small but exceptional. Our select group of broodmares was carefully purchased for their athletic abilities and disposition. We have one broodmare out of the top IHF Stallion All The Gold, two are out of the internationally known Grand Prix Jumper Budweiser, one is from the international Dressage star Waldorf, and the fifth is out of the famous Hunter/ Jumper Castle Magic (see IHF table above). We have included picture galleries of our broodmares and their most recent foals for your viewing pleasure.
